WIP Wednesday

Hey it’s Wednesday, hope you all are having a good week. I’m gonna share every Wednesday what I’m currently working on. For those of you not familiar with WIP, it means work in progress. This will help me to stay on top of what I’m currently working on and hopefully knock down on the number of WIP’s I currently have. I have about 3 that come to mind. If you crochet or knit, you’ll understand.

It’s a customer order for my new Bedtime Bella. The mom wanted pink and purple for her daughter. She plans to give it to her for Valentine’s day, I hope she enjoys it.

The new one will look like the picture on the bottom. When I finish crocheting the blanket part, I will block it so the points will be nice and sharp looking, not rounded like in the pink and purple picture. I do it for esthetic reasons, I know it won’t last especially on acrylic yarn. I’m trying to figure out what else I can add to it to make it special for my customer since it’s my first order for my new creation. Blocking is the process of washing the item in a gentle soap, rinse and lay out on a towel or blocking squares and pin them down until they dry. I’ll post a before and after picture when I finish the new one.

My next WIP I’ve been working on for two months, I’m almost finished. It’s a teddy bear for my daughter’s friend who had a baby in early December. My daughter wanted to run out and buy something for the baby. Slow down baby girl, I can MAKE something for her. I have yarn in my stash and we don’t have to spend any money. The budget has to be watched these days. I’m gonna finish it this week, I really am. The child will be six months olds if I don’t push myself to finish it.

As you can see, I have the amigurumi bug, I love making the art of crocheted stuff dolls, animals or blanket.

I want to make a few dolls to list in my Etsy shop. I’ve had a few inquiries about having dolls ready to sell. I like to make them as a customer request, but I will make one or two and see how it goes.

Enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll post pictures of Bedtime Bella when I finish her. Make sure you guys are following me on all my social media but especially Instagram where I share all my work.

  1. Congratulations on the bedtime Bella order. Not to add anything else to your to do list but would love to see a pattern for her when you get time 😉
