My creative mind is all over the place right now. I’ve always liked crafting. I didn’t realize how much until I had my girls and they would bring home their crafts from school. They would make some cute things and some things you just wanna put in a box. Those were always the things they wanted to put out on display. I saved as much as I could, between school and summer camp, it has truly accumulated.
I learned how to crochet and knit when I was about 10 years old. I liked crocheting better, so that’s the one I stuck with. I would do it from time to time, but never as much as I do now.
I made this blanket for each one of my girls about 11 or 12 years ago. It took me almost a year to finish the one for my youngest, she reminded me on a regular basis too. I was busy, working, raising them and all of their activities. They still have them and love their blanket to this day.
I learned how to make jewelry in 2006, I took a class at JoAnn’s. It was a lot of fun and I went crazy, purchasing tools, tote bag, baubles, beads and findings. They gave me a nickname at work, Beadrella. I like to make memory wire bracelets, but I’m starting to make other things now, like this necklace. I’ve owned the pendant for several years, and I’m just now making something out of it.
I went to a bead show last weekend and picked up these lovely items. They may sit in my beading container for a long time, but I’m gonna try and create a few things with them, this year, lol.
Here’s the thing about crafting, it’s expensive. As soon as the rush slows down, you realize what an addiction creating is and you must become creative with the coupons and savings. I never go to Michael’s, JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby without my coupons. As a matter of fact, I have all three apps on my iPhone.
I’m in the process of teaching myself to knit with the help of YouTube and a few of my Periscope friends. Knitting is not a dense as crocheting and since I’m a fiber lover, I want to be able to add it to my creative resume. This is a swatch I made and I’ll be the first one to admit I’ve got some work to do.
….and I still want a Cricut machine and I need a sewing machine. I’m gonna get them too. Pray for me y’all.

Have a great day.
