Pom Pom Rug

This project was fun to make and my girls were both on board for this one. My youngest doesn’t like anything to do with yarn except wearing her finished project, so I made hers. It was a tad time consuming because you have to make all the Pom Poms for the rug, but it was relaxing because I was fingering and playing with yarn. Don’t judge me.

Here’s the items I used to make my first pom-pom rug:

  • 2-4 skeins of yarn
  • Clover Pom-Pom maker 2-1/2 in or 65 mm or whatever size you want
  • Scissors
  • Plastic Canvas Sheet or non slip rug liner
  • 2.75 mm crochet hook

Make your Pom Poms, then loop it through your canvas sheet and tie. I left the ends long enough and I knotted them to each other, then cut the ends.

It took me about a two weeks to make it from start to finish, and while working on other projects. I plan on making many more, I have so many ideas on how to make this different. Also I would use non slip rug line next time, it’s more flexible and easy to cut into different shapes.

I use the Clover Pom Pom makers because I don’t have time to cut cardboard and figure it out, I just don’t. Plus they are so easy to use, but use whatever works best for you.
