Listen To Your Body

I’ve recently visited my new primary care physician and had a few experiences that I want to pass along to you all.

If your body is talking to you, please listen. I wasn’t feeling good at all, exhausted all the time, extremely irritable, which is what I shared with my doctor. I had a physical in December 2016 and everything was good. Now I have a few health issues to deal with. I think as we get older, we need to visit our doctor at least once a year and more if you are having problems. Listen to your body, it will let you know when things aren’t right.

I had a good conversation with my new primary care physician, she made me feel comfortable and I just opened up about everything regarding my health. I don’t normally do that because I don’t like going to the doctor. I think it helped that we were the same age.

Let’s not forget our yearly mammograms. I get mine every year. There’s all kind of ways you can get your mammograms. A few years ago, one of the hospitals came up to my job with their mammogram van, very convenient. My church is sponsoring a health fair next weekend and will have a mammogram van there as well. Uncomfortable, but worth saving your life. I have several friends that got mammograms and they are still alive and sharing their stories.

The stress from our move brought everything out and forced me to go to the doctor. I don’t believe the move caused my health issues, just made me deal with not feeling like myself.

I gave up about 6 tubes of blood, man that wasn’t pretty. I have rolling veins and it took two technicians to get the blood they needed. They did both of my arms and my right hand. I told her she got one try on my hand, I need my hands to work!  She got it right, but my arms were bruised for about a week after.

I haven’t felt like doing anything but was forcing myself to do what was needed. I would be exhausted by 6:00 and ready for bed (that probably won’t change, lol). I’m looking forward to feeling like myself again and tackling my health issues like a winner.

Have a wonderful weekend.
